India’s National Education Policy of 2020 aims to achieve universal foundational literacy and numeracy in early primary schooling.  Large-scale education reforms in preschool and primary school were implemented to support this policy. 

The What Works Hub for Global Education is studying and evaluating a number of these initiatives as well as factors that affect their implementation.
