J-PAL South Asia at IFMR

The Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) is a global research center working to reduce poverty by ensuring that policy is informed by scientific evidence. Anchored by a network of over 900 affiliated researchers at universities around the world, J-PAL conducts randomized impact evaluations to answer critical questions in the fight against poverty. J-PAL South Asia is hosted by the Institute for Financial Management and Research (IFMR)Chennai, India, and works on producing and disseminating high quality evidence on impact of educational reforms in Indian states.

With the What Works Hub for Global Education, J-PAL South Asia, in collaboration with Profs. Karthik Muralidharan, Abhijeet Singh and Mauricio Romero, directly works with state governments to identify and rigorously evaluate reforms in the education sector.
