Improving new curriculum rollout and access and utilisation of an electronic learning management system
Project overview
Foundational learning levels in Tanzania are low. To tackle this problem, Tanzania is currently rolling out a new curriculum targeting more effective student-centred learning. This curriculum reform entails considerable shifts in content and pedagogy, so it requires support to ensure it will be taken up.
One element of this support is subject and pedagogical learning material developed by the Tanzania Institute of Education and delivered to teachers through an electronic learning management system. The research team will determine the quality of this new curriculum training and measure access to, and engagement with, online teacher training materials.
This project is focused on how Tanzania Institute of Education and other implementation agencies involved can improve:
- understanding, take-up and delivery of the new curriculum;
- access, engagement and utilisation of the electronic learning management system.
