Richard Yesaya Shukia is a lecturer, consultant, and researcher in Child Psychology, Early Childhood Development, Early Learning, Curriculum Reforms, and Teacher Continuous Professional Development at the University of Dar es Salaam. He boasts over 15 years of experience in designing and conducting cross-sectional studies, along with participatory quantitative and qualitative evaluation research. He has collaborated with the Tanzanian government at national, sub-national, and local levels in various capacities. Recently, he has been engaged by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MoEST) and the President’s Office–Regional Administrative Local Government (PO-RALG) as a national technical expert to support curriculum reforms and in-service teacher training in Tanzania. He also participated in the systems research project, Research on Improving Systems of Education (RISE), as part of the Tanzanian team, from 2016 to 2022. Currently, he is the lead researcher supporting the MoEST and PO-RALG in undertaking research and evaluation of Teacher Continuous Professional Development roll-outs in 26 pilot local government authorities.
