Yi Yang

Project Officer (Communications and Events)

Yi Yang is the Project Officer (Communications and Events) at the What Works Hub for Global Education, Blavatnik School of Government, University of Oxford.

Prior to joining Oxford, Yi had a five-year work experience at UNESCO’s International Bureau of Education (IBE) in Geneva, Switzerland, where she worked as the communication assistant to the Director and project coordination consultant.

Yi started her career in 2015 as a social media manager with an education technology startup in China, and she later moved to the UK as the London correspondent for WallStreetCN. From 2018 to 2023, she worked at the UNESCO International Bureau of Education in Geneva, where she provided support to the Director and the senior management team in delivering a range of UNESCO’s flagship projects and events across Africa, Asia, Europe, and Latin America.

Yi holds a Master’s degree in Management (GMiM) from London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), and a BA in Journalism from Nanjing University. She is originally from Shanghai, China.
