Leo Mfura is the Rwanda Country Director for the Georgetown University Initiative on Innovation, Development, and Evaluation (gui²de). His role involves working with researchers and leading gui²de’s field research and programmatic activities, as well as government engagement in Rwanda. He also leads business development efforts for new streams of research and contributes to fundraising, proposal development, and long-term strategic planning for gui²de’s Rwanda portfolio.
Prior to this, Leo was a Senior Research and Policy Manager at Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA) Rwanda. He joined IPA in 2014 as a Research Associate, advancing to Senior Research Associate in 2016, Senior Policy Associate in 2018, and then Research and Policy Coordinator, before attaining his role as Senior Research and Policy Manager, where he led policy-relevant partnerships in Rwanda. Prior to joining IPA, he managed research fieldwork for a WASH-research project led by Emory University for two years. He also spent seven years working with various governmental and non-governmental organizations across Rwanda in health and nutrition.
