What Works Hub for Global Education Policy Fellow (2026)

Kholosa Nonkenge is an Acting Deputy Director in the Research Coordination and Monitoring and Evaluation Directorate at the Department of Basic Education in South Africa Her work includes system monitoring and conducting research and evaluation of education interventions. She is part of the research team for the government-led Early Grade Reading Study randomised control trials (2018-2021, 2021-2026). She holds a Master of Science Degree in Leadership, Security and Society from King’s College London, as well as an Honours in Politics and International Relations from Rhodes University. Kholosa has experience conducting research in government, academia, and the NGO sector and she is currently working in Early Grade Reading projects at the Department of Basic Education.
