‘Layi is the National Project Coordinator of the $552 million HOPE Education programme. The project aims to improve foundational learning, increase access to basic education targeting the most vulnerable and out of school children, and strengthen education systems at a national scale. He also leads the Education Partnership Coordination unit, reporting to the Hon Minister of Education, overseeing a team of director-level heads of Development Finance Institution (DFI) funded programs (about $2 billion), collaborating with Ministry of Finance, and other MDAs. He ensures all partnerships (from design to implementation) align with country policies and priorities, promotes accountability and improved visibility through periodic tracking of project performance using agreed key performance indicators (KPIs). He supports senior Government stakeholders, as a public sector project delivery and organizational reforms professional with over 18 years’ multi-country experience and a passion for building resilient systems leveraging data, management capacity development, and performance management.
