Lant Pritchett


Lant Pritchett is the author of the book The Rebirth of Education: Schooling ain’t Learning (2013) and dozens of articles on education. He was the Research Director of the Research on Improving Systems of Education (RISE) project at the Blavatnik School of Government until its end in March of 2023. In addition to his work on education he also has done research on how public sector organizations build their capability, which is an important part of the “how” policies actually get implemented and lead to results, and was a co-author of the book Building State Capability: Analysis, Evidence, Action (2016). He is currently a Visiting Professor of Practice at the London School of Economics.
