British Council Project Manager for the What Works Hub for Global Education

Ian is the Project Manager for the British Council’s contribution to the What Works Hub for Global Education partnership at the global level. The British Council plays a crucial role in the Hub, acting as a facilitator and convenor, bringing together stakeholders to support and strengthen the data, evidence, and research ecosystem in country.

Ian has worked as a state school primary school teacher and education officer in the UK. Working for the Local Education Authority in Sheffield, Ian delivered school governor training and family literacy, in addition to managing education and community projects including a supplementary school consortium. Moving overseas in 2009, Ian project managed some of the British Council’s largest donor-funded English and School Education projects in Myanmar, Malaysia, and Thailand. Ian has worked on business planning and monitoring and evaluation for British Council at a global level and managed the English and School Education portfolio for East Asia.
