Haogen Yao is an Education Specialist (Economist) at UNICEF Headquarters in New York, where he leads global work on sector planning and financing. He coordinates flagship monitoring initiatives including the Foundational Learning Action Tracker, the Equitable Financing Report series, and the Snapshot of Climate-Related School Disruptions. Haogen has supported education analysis and response in over 20 countries across development and humanitarian settings, including Nigeria, Palestine, and Syria. He holds a PhD in Economics and Education from Teachers College, Columbia University.
