What Works Hub for Global Education Policy Fellow (2026)

Edward Kpakra was born in the South of Sierra Leone. He started primary education at University Experimental School, Njala, and on completion of his primary education, he progressed to Government Secondary School, Bo, where he sat the GCE O Levels and enrolled at Ahmadiyya Muslim Secondary School, Freetown to do his A Levels.  

On completion of his A Levels, he entered Njala University College where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Education with a major in Literature. In the United Kingdom, while teaching in the secondary sector, he pursued double Masters’ degrees; one in English Language Teaching and Applied Linguistics from King’s College, London, and the other from University of Greenwich in Education Management with a specialty in Special Education Needs; and a Postgraduate Certificate in Career Advice and Guidance from University of Cambridge. 

He is currently serving as the Chief Education Officer, Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education, Sierra Leone.
