Takao Maruyama

Senior Research Fellow, JICA Ogata Research Institute

Takao Maruyama joined the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in 2002 and has been involved in the operation of educational projects in Africa for over ten years. He has a  Ph.D. from Hitotsubashi University, Japan, and is currently a senior research fellow at the JICA Ogata Research Institute. His research interests are foundational learning, scaling-up of interventions, and networks of educational organisations. He has conducted several impact evaluations in Africa and Central America. He is also conducting research on how development agencies can use data and evidence in international educational development.
