Anaya Dam is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the What Works Hub for Global Education at the University of Oxford. Her research interests are in development economics, specifically education and gender. Her research focuses on understanding how household and individuals make decisions on high-stakes economic outcomes, such as education and marriage. And, how these decisions of men and women, boys and girls are shaped by and shape inequalities. In her research, she uses randomised controlled trials in field-settings as well as lab experiments. She has experience conducting research in Afghanistan, India, Pakistan, Kenya, Ethiopia and Uganda.
Anaya holds a MPhil in Economics (cum laude) and PhD (expected) from Utrecht University, The Netherlands. She was a visiting researcher at the Development Innovation Lab at the University of Chicago, collaborating on their education portfolio.
