Adekola Ajayi

Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Manager

Adekola Ajayi is a monitoring and evaluation professional with over 12 years of extensive experience in public health, strategic information planning, and programming across HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis (TB), orphan and vulnerable children (OVC), gender, health system strengthening, and technical and vocational education and training. He has built strategic networks with governmental, international, and indigenous non-governmental organisations. As a key player in the development sector, he works with teams to significantly contribute to initiatives that promote global best practices in quality improvement and project management, including research and strategic knowledge management, in Nigeria, the UK, and globally for sustainable development.

In his most recent role as a Monitoring, Reporting, Evaluation, and Learning Senior Officer at the UK Health Security Agency in London, he provided technical support to strengthen the evidence base and ensure quality monitoring, evaluation, and learning across global public health projects. He developed tools, frameworks, and capacity for effective implementation and impact measurement.

Previously, as a project manager at Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust, Adekola improved breast cancer diagnostic pathways and patient information systems. At Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) in Nigeria, he led the development and implementation of M&E plans for agriculture, technical, vocational, and education training (ATVET) projects, conducted evaluations and studies, developed tools and systems for monitoring, and collaborated with government agencies and partners on project implementation and reporting.

In his earlier roles at the CDC/PEPFAR Centre of Integrated Health Programmes, he received extensive training in supportive supervision and clinical system mentoring. he was also a member and facilitator of the National Monitoring and Evaluation Tools Development and Training Technical Working Group for vulnerable children (VC), antiretroviral therapy (ART), prevention of mother-to-child transmission (PMTCT), and HIV Testing Services (HTS) Management Information System (MIS).

Adekola holds a BSc in Computer Science, a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration, and an MBA from institutions in Nigeria. In his free time, he enjoys reading books, watching football, and playing video games with friends.
