Lontum Nchadze

Lontum “Shey” Nchadze is a doctoral candidate in public policy at Oregon State University in the United States, specialising in international policy. His research focuses on utilising experimental methods, causal inference and data science to enhance evidence-based policymaking. Currently, he is working on impact evaluations of Malawi’s national numeracy programme and the effects of performance-based financing on various outcomes in Cameroonian schools. Previously, he worked as a statistical analyst in the budget division of Cameroon’s Ministry of Finance. He has also consulted as a statistician for various think tanks and international organisations across Africa, contributing to development and governance projects. Shey is an alumnus of the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) West Africa Emerging Leaders Program and was a 2017 Mandela Washington Fellow.
