FCDO Evidence into Action Adviser for the What Works Hub for Global Education

Laura is the FCDO Evidence into Action Adviser for the What Works Hub for Global Education. Her work centres on evidence use and how the Hub can support evidence-based decision-making and strengthen implementation, including through mechanisms such as education labs and south-south learning. She has a country focus on Rwanda, Ghana, Bangladesh and Nigeria.  

Laura has been an education adviser within the FCDO for over 10 years leading education programmes with governments in Nigeria, Myanmar, Afghanistan and Somalia, including work on the Girls’ Education Challenge. Much of her work has focused on reforms to improve foundational learning outcomes, initiatives to reach the most marginalised learners, community-based education solutions and teachers’ professional development. Prior to this Laura worked in research and consultancy, specialising on education finance, sector planning and education in emergencies and protracted crisis.
